The Morning Call
The 2017 Men’s African Nations Championship has been underway in Cairo Egypt since October the 22.
This comes after the women’s tournament, that was hosted in Yaounde Cameroon between October 7 and October 14. The hosts Cameroon won the championship after they beat bitter rivals Kenya 3-0 in the final. Egypt beat Senegal 3-0 to finish third, meaning that Senegal finished fourth.
In the quarterfinals of the men’s event:-
-Algeria Congo DR 3-0
-Tunisia v Morocco 3-0
-Cameroon v Libya 3-2
-Egypt v Rwanda 3-0
The results mean that Tunisia meet Algeria as hosts Egypt entertain Cameroon in the semifinals.
Nigeria vs Argentina Friendly
The President of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Tapia, revealed that Nigeria have promised to field their best players, when both countries face each other in a friendly match on November 14.
Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has also confirmed that he has verbally agreed a new two-year deal to continue in his role.
